I find it very rewarding to design spaces for my clients. Especially spaces that require an attention to details and organization.
This office was an empty room in one of the new high-end condos in the centre of Yorkville. My client had just moved in with her husband, and both of them required to periodically work from home. They needed a space where both of them could work together when needed, but since the office is open to their living space, they also wanted it to be clean, modern and stylish.
Instead of using furniture for this small space, I decided to have built-in cabinetry for the desk and storage. This way we could maximize the space by designing cabinetry to go from floor to ceiling and utilize the whole back wall for storage.
We needed space for their printer, other office supplies, filing drawers, wine and books. I created a pull-out shelf for the printer for easy access, custom wood pull-out filing drawers, and a wine rack in one of the upper cabinets to house all their needs.
The desk is made of glossy painted lacquer cabinetry with a tempered starphire glass top. Reason I used starphire glass is to minimize the green hue regular glass has.
